What does it cost? CKNZ club fees are among the lowest in the country. For complete transparency, club fees are $40 per senior ($20 for Junior) per calendar year. You also require a kartsport license which is currently $35 per year. There is also a $5 per karter per event ($10 per family per event) fee payable to the CKNZ Club for each event we host. Finally, the Kartsport club itself that we host events at charge a track usage fee (usually around $20-$30 per day). Any other costs you’d incur would of course be the purchase of a kart, its running costs and repairs/maintenance, and travel and accommodation at the event (the latter often having the kart club providing free camping at the track)
To participate in our regular events, you are required to have:
- CKNZ Club Membership
- Kartsport Classic License
And of course, have a kart that adheres to CKNZ rules and karting attire (suit, gloves, helmet, rib protector etc) that adheres to Kartsport NZ rules Note that from 1st August 2024, rib protectors are mandatory so add this to your shopping list. If you need any assistance in selecting an appropriate kart or attire, please contact us and/or join the facebook group and ask. Our current members are more than willing to help!
- CKNZ membership is valid from 1st January to 31st December of that calendar year
- Kartsport license is valid from 1st September to 31st August the following year
