I am new to Karting and Classic Karts in 2026.
I recently had my first run at Edgecumbe and had such a great time that I thought I would share my thoughts!
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, everyone was so friendly, relaxed and ready to help a newbie. As there is no racing, only “spirited demonstrations” in groups of karts that go a similar speed, there is no pressure or expectation to perform to any level. Very chill and stress free.
Not knowing anything about karting at all, various members of the club were only too happy to offer advice and even arranged a great deal when it came time to buy my first kart. Transport from New Plymouth wasn’t a problem as several members teamed up to shuttle my new baby up to Auckland, all for no charge.
I am really enjoying my karting and feel very welcome in this friendly family environment where the focus is on having safe, yet exhilarating fun with no competition.
I am so grateful to friends for inviting me into this neat club and look forward to meeting heaps of new friends and having plenty of great experiences.
